E-28 | Temporal Trends in Radiation and Contrast Dose After the Introduction of New X-Ray Systems

The effect of technological improvements on radiation dose and contrast volume during cardiac catheterization has received limited study. We compared the cumulative air kerma, fluoroscopy time, before after installation new X-ray systems in 14,051 procedures performed between 2018 2021 at a tertiary US center. Cumulative kerma (AK) increased system by 94 mGy (95% CI [55, 133], p < 0.001). After adjusting for baseline characteristics, (age, body mass index, bifurcation lesion, complexity) estimated increase was 61 (30, 92), 0.001. Adjusting 45 (24, 66), with 40 (11, 69), = 0.007. Fluoroscopy time also 1.0 min 0.54, 1.5, 0.54 0.15, 0.93, 0.006). similar (0.07 min, 95% -0.44, 0.58, 0.8).
